List Building with Articles
By Jeff Herring on June 15, 2008
Here is what I know with certainty:
If I want more visitors, I write more articles.
If I want more prospects, I write more articles.
If I want more teleseminar listeners, I write more articles.
If I want more customers, I write more articles.
If I want more profits, I write more articles.
And if I want more highly qualified, highly responsive people on my list, I write more articles. I strongly suggest you do the very same.
When someone joins your list after reading one of your articles, they have qualified themselves by raising their hand and saying they are interested in your topic.
And they are already beginning to know, like and trust you and they want more information, and they want it from you.
And when you take good care of the members on your list and make sure you give them lots of good stuff, you will have a highly responsive list as well. All this built with small samples of your expertise, spread all over the internet, called articles.

How about embedded audio within the article? I would think hearing the person would increase the feeling of familiarity (know, like and trust). Any thoughts?
I have learned this from you and put it into action. I continue to write more articles, 676 as of right now, and I take care of my list like the treasures they are. Article writing and marketing, along with teleseminars, has changed my life.
Hello Alex & everyone,
Thanks for allowing me this opportunity to make a comment.
I really believe that writing does improve traffic, especially to my blog which was ranking over 7.5
million in January 2008. I began tweaking my keywords and writing more posts and now I am just a little over 2.1 million. I am hoping that things will get better by the end of the year. I will continue to keep writing to see how much I improve.
I am actually writing my first book called “Creating Intelligent Pleasure” The main theme is about turning projects into products. So far it’s going well(I feel good about what I have so far)
It’s also touching on the subject of developing a vibrant mind.
I wish everyone all the best!
Marsha
Can anyone suggest how to increase traffic from the articles you write? I submit lots of good content to ezinearticles.com, but haven’t seen traffic as a result.
James Brausch has created a new program that will help gather more business for your website. The program, Glyphius, takes the google headline you create for your website and scores it against similar websites based on successfulness. After the initial scoring, you can then change your headline to make it as successful as possible. Glyphius will then score your headline again against your competitors. This is truly and amazing product.
Jeff
I am learning this from you. Also I have done one teleseminar! I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge while I create a new life for me. Simple is best. Thank you.
Jeff, I love this part where you say, “When someone joins your list after reading one of your articles, they have qualified themselves by raising their hand and saying they are interested in your topic.” I’m getting a new appreciation for each one of these folks who finds the way over to my list! They are indeed golden, worthy of respect, and deserving of the best we’ve got to offer them! Thanks for the insights.
People come to Internet Marketing (IM) thinking the “IM” stands for Instant Money. Then they can’t figure out why wishing does not generate profit.
You’ve got the true path figured out.
Article writing is the way to go to increase awareness to your site. Always hard to do the first one but very easy after that. Keep writing good content.
It makes sense that when someone joins my list after reading one of my articles, they have qualified themselves by raising their hand and saying they are interested in my topic. Thanks for the reminder to write articles.
Alex you have said it multiple times. Content is King, and the fact is that most of us have had life experiences that has allowed us to accumulated ideas, skills and techniques. These things that we have learned, if communicated well, can be used to improve the life of others in many ways.
Articles are not novels, and I find refining my thoughts on a subject into 400-600 words insures that it’s “Laser Focused” and valuable content.
I am New to Internet Marketing however with your guidence and Ensight I see My Mission of help as many people as possible reach their Dream with my Information. Thank You Alex and all the comment contributors.

Hi Alex,
A message from England. A lot of what you guys do in the States follows through to Europe with a lag time of about 2 years. I like what you do and want to promote this kind of thing with my European clients.
I have just started writing for ezinearticles.com. Do I need to publish with a lot of article directories or focus on a select few?
Any chance of some seminars targeted at the European market?
Alex thanks for all the infomation you provide.
I have started writing articles with Ezinearticles ( 28 to date ) and find by looking at the Stistics they provide, that some articles are hotter than others which is a good indicator of what the readers want more of. From the vast experience of your network is there a programme that will do automatic submission to a number of directories once you have listed them? I tried one such program that didn’t live up to the promises. My other question relates to the subject raised in the post by Antonia about audio clips within an article, does ezinearticles or any other directory allow these audio clips?
Advice on this will be appreciated.
I just signed up for a ecourse with you and looking forward to my session with you. I have started writing articles so far 16 published. I am learning from you and Connie Green. I feel there is much to learn and know that I have good mentors. I haven’t seen the traffic yet and was wondering if you recommend the software that publishes your articles to other sites? Or is it more worth while to just write more articles? I have also just started teleseminars. Thanks for you help.
Antonia - While EzineArticles.com and the other article directories do not allow you to add audio to your artilce submissions, you are definitely on the right track…look for more about this concept very soon.
HannahIf you are submitting articles and not getting many views, check your title. If you are getting lots of views but not many click thrus (traffic) you want to check your resource box.

Hey Alex,
Awesome materials in the Virtual Book Tour!
I appreciate how you view the entire picture with the connections and service to students and clients - great attitude, something so basic to training and teaching. I confess I have only finished my first article, and have begun working with Connie Regan Green - who correctly sent me right over to you before I started any next project.
She is so excellent in her own teaching and her views of your contribution… I look forward to every one of the next classes, and see a very interesting future with each step forward,
Many thanks,
Chuck

Great info. Sounds so simple and maybe that is the problem it really is simple and we over complicated it and place it in the Only the gurus can do it!

Great reasons to do this:
1.Article writing is a free traffic resource
2.You demonstrate ‘value and leadership’ by writing about a topic
Even if you don’t think you are good at writing, you can ‘outsource’ and have someone write articles for you agentsofvalue.com and elance.com are two great resources.
Write about off-topic things that are of interest to you. If you are doing this to gain customers or prospects, you can attract those who share similar interests or values by writing about things you love, like health or kitesurfing, or whatever.
great stuff as always alex,
