Recession-Proofing with Article Marketing
By Jeff Herring on June 24, 2008

cliffs_110.jpgOne of my favorite shows as a kid was Get Smart. So I was excited to hear about the movie version that opened this summer. The new Get Smart movie got me to thinking about how to get smart with our article marketing efforts.

International Article Agents

Imagine what it would it be like if you could have a 300 to 500 word sample of your expertise spread all over the internet working for you 24/7 all over the world.

Now imagine having ten of those “international article agents.”

Now imagine having 100 of those “international article agents.”

Now imagine being able to add one new or several new “international article agents” any time you wanted to create more prospects, publicity and profits.

Now imagine being able to do this for free…

Are you getting the power of article marketing here? Has it occurred to you yet what you can create with this powerful strategy?

That’s exactly what an article is - an “international article agent” working for you 24/7 all over the world, no matter what you are doing. Right now as I write this article, I have over 1100 of these article agents out there working for me.

Those of us who spend a great deal of time on the internet sometimes forget that “www” stands for world wide web. Which means if even if there is an “economic downturn” in the country in which you live, your article agents provide you with reach all over the world.

Talk about recession-proofing your business….

Bottom Line? - Increase your reach all over the world and recession-proof your business with your own team of “international article agents.”

Excellent article, Alex. I think many of us tend to get caught up in the day to day and leave article marketing on the back burner and it never gets done. But it’s SO powerful that it’s a wonder so few use it.

    Hi Jeff,

I love the term “International Article Agents”. Your article is a great reminder of the power of articles.

Just today I received notification that someone had bought one of my articles. The thing is I had written it, submitted it and forgotten all about it.

While this didn’t represent a big payday for me it was nonetheless very gratifying to be paid for my content. And again, it served as a reminder that when you have numerous IAAs in the field you just never know what can result.

This is a great reminder for and an example of how articles can be used to extend the reach of your business or professional practice. I had two conversations this week with friends with very different niches. I was telling them about the power of article marketing. I wish I had read this blog post before talking with them. Thanks for the analogy!

Jeff, I can hear the music playing as I read it. I love the idea of having these little guys running all over the globe just to help me. I now have students on six continents (can’t get the penguins in Antarctica to get on board yet), and they all found me through my articles. Thanks again for turning me into a writer in 2007.

    Jeff:
Secret Agent from Alpharetta has worked for me too. I was a student in Teleseminar Secrets and your article marketing Course and can tell you that Article marketing is one of the most cost effective ways of promotion I know, and it works. Cheaper than PPC and faster than ever. This agent is glad he got smart.

    Jeff,

I second all the comments above, and want to add that what I find most gratifying is the cumulative effect — these articles self-proliferate as they go out to work for me, and every additional article I write/publish adds to the effect. Talk about motivational! And I can really see the effect in the numbers of visitors and subscribers.

    Thanks :-)

I like the idea of internationalizing my articles… but how do you get an agent? Jeff Herring is my mentor and is doing a great job, but until I read your Blog I didn’t see the real potential of article writing on an international scale. Thanks, Marc Lerner

Jeff (The Red) Herring, showing us again how NOT to be thrown off the scent while on the trail of Mission Accomplished! not Mission Impossible!
    Thanks!

    Great article Jeff!

I started article writing two weeks ago at the prompting of Alex. I already have 50 article on ezinearticles.com, have had over 500 hits on my website from them, and 10 of those articles have been published in ezines. All with my biline.

I like the idea of recession proof. We do forget that www stands for world wide web. That is quite an audience. Article writing is the way to go.

Alex my goal was to write 10 articles this month. After being reminded of the power of article writing,
my self-imposed goal has been raised to 25.

    Thanks so much.

I have been looking for somewhere to send my articles and have been sending them to magazines and newspapers with lukewarm results. I wasn’t really aware ezines exsisted so thanks. I feel totally inspired now. Wonderful article. Cheers Jeff. Kevin from Australia
