The “Social Gathering Power” of Reunions

By Alex Mandossian on February 16, 2010

TSS ReunionOne of the most fundamental ways to stay united with your colleagues and friends is through the power of Reunions.

Unlike seminars or workshops, Reunion events are not episodic and thus create a greater sense of community and unity among the participants who attend.

(The picture on the upper left of this post is the SFO Marriott where I’m hosting my annual Teleseminarian Reunion this year – March 5th and 6th)

Click here if you’re in a big hurry and watch the video now.

If you’ve ever thought of hosting a conference, workshop or seminar, think instead of tapping into the continuity power of what a Reunion can bring to you and your tribe.

Reunions can be held weekly with professional networking groups like what BNI members do throughout the world, or monthly with private mastermind groups.  They can even occur every 60 days such as CEO Space gatherings or annually such as my Teleseminarian Reunion … even every decade like high school reunions.

The time of year or frequency isn’t as important as the gathering power that Reunions create. When I say gathering power, I mean building the sense of belonging or feeling of unity espoused by the members of your community.

And whether those communities are twenty or two-thousand members strong, there are 3 key advantages that Reunions participants have over attending episodic workshops or seminars.  These are the 3 unifying elements that espouse more social gathering power:

  1. Unique language or vocabulary
  2. Unique community or culture
  3. Unique facilitation or leadership

If you’re an entrepreneur, small business owner or (more…)

Revisit the World’s Greatest “Squeeze Page”

By Alex Mandossian on October 1, 2009

be productiveOn September 4th of this year, I flew in my marketing Team for a one day planning meeting.

There we were, sitting in my dining room waiting to eat lunch when Eric Lingenfelter, my web development director, asked this interesting question:

“What’s the world’s greatest ’squeeze’ page?”

I thought about it.  My other team members thought about it.  We eventually went around the table with rapid-fire attempts to give the right answer.

But to every answer Eric kept shaking his head smiling and saying, “Nope, nope, nope, nope …” until I finally asked him what he thought was the world’s greatest squeeze page.

“The world’s greatest ’squeeze’ page is …

Monetize Your “Fan Pages” on Facebook

By Alex Mandossian on September 1, 2009

Take a moment to watch this video and then follow-through with the CTA (Call-To-Action) I recommend during the video presentation.

This video will take just 4 mins, 39 secs out of your day, but what you discover may help you monetize your social media presence for the life of your business.

alex-fb-productiviy-play2

A few of my claims in this video may offend some online marketers, and yet put smiles on the faces of others.

What’s most important about this video is NOT my claim about the mass decomposition of media, or how the one-to-many marketing model is becoming obsolete.

What’s most important is for you realize that social media can be monetized if you utilize this simple Formula:

(Ask Squeeze Page) x (Facebook Fan Page) x (Teleseminar) = Faster Profits

Test it out so you can find out for yourself.

If you prefer to experience the process before you test is, just visit my special Facebook Fan Page and get registered for the free EMI Teleseminar(s) this Thurs, September 3rd.

Virtual + Physical = Massive Marketing Reach

By Alex Mandossian on April 2, 2009

alex-looking-downThis is a true story.  On Friday, April 3rd, I was invited to participate as a faculty member for the Ultimate Business Mastery Summit in Las Vegas, NV (March 31st – April 4th) hosted by Tony Robbins and Chet Holmes.  The event is SOLD OUT.

Unfortunately, I had a schedule conflict with my good friends at Early To Rise because I was asked to Emcee their Profits in Paradise workshop at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, which is also sold out.

Suddenly, it hit me – why can’t I teach at both events?

Even thought I’m committed to ETR, I could still teach at the UBMS in Las Vegas through a Webcast from my hotel room and invite TeleWebcast listeners like you to get access to the same 60-minute, Internet Optimization training.

And that’s exactly what I’m doing after getting permission from the team at UBMS … and I do hope you participate and invite your friends and colleagues.

Want To Participate? Visit www.OptimizationMastery.com to get private TeleWebcast access on Friday night at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern for $20 and you may even invite one friend or business colleague to the training at no extra fee.

KEY POINT: Remember to use your VIP Discount Code – AM3964 – to save $79 off the $99 tuition everybody will pay who don’t read this blog post.

But that’s not all … (more…)

Watch This If Confused About “Social Networks”

By Alex Mandossian on March 31, 2009

socialnetworks As Lee LeFever says at the beginning of this great 1 minute, 48 second video “Networks get things done.”

In less than two minutes, he clearly describes how networks evolve and why they’re so important to us in our personal and professional lives.

I really admire teachers who can reduce complicated concepts to their simple essence.  This video is easy to understand and I encourage you to pass it along to others who may be still be confused by the “social networking” revolution.

If you look up the term, Social Network, in Wikipedia, here are the most help 250 words you’ll find in their very detailed definition:

Social networks are social structures made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, ideas, financial exchange, relationships, kinship, dislikes or trade.

In its simplest form, a social network is a map of all of the relevant ties between the nodes being studied. The network can also be used to determine the social capital of individual actors. These concepts are often displayed in a social network diagram, where nodes are the points and ties are the lines.

Just for fun, see if you can correctly answer these (more…)

A Great Way To Start Your Day

By Alex Mandossian on February 24, 2009

ted-logo1Almost every entrepreneur I know begins doing business with a daily ritual.

Many of my colleagues read of the local newspaper.  Others watch the morning news on CNN.  And many others simply close their eyes and meditate for about 20 minutes.

I have no idea what you do or if you even have a daily ritual, but today I want to “part the curtain” on what I believe is the single most important activity I do to start my day.

It’s a simple 20-minute business ritual that inspires and motivates me to face any business challenge head-on and helps me to generate new ideas and innovations with little effort.

My Morning Ritual: At about 7:30am (Pacific Time) , I grab my PC mouse, fire-up my browser and punch-in (more…)

The “Decoy” Pricing Model

By Alex Mandossian on October 3, 2008

pi-cover.jpgAccording to Wikipedia, the “decoy effect” (also known as the ”asymmetric dominance effect”) is the phenomenon  whereby consumers change their preference between two options when also presented with a third option that is asymmetrically dominated.”

In plainer language, here’s the way decoys are utilized daily during consumer experiences.

Scenario 1: You order a medium-size Pepsi at the movies for $2.75 and the person behind the counter asks, “Would you like a large for just 25 cents more?” You say, “Yes”… that’s the decoy effect.

Scenario 2: You’re sitting at the bar in an airport terminal waiting for your plane to board. As soon as you order your $7 cocktail, the bartender smiles and says, “Want a double-shot for just $2 more?” You say, “Yes”… that’s the decoy effect.

I have no idea what your consumer response would be in similar circumstances, but I do know from my own experience (more…)
