Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in No Time Flat is the new book from my friend and colleague Michael Masterson who runs Early To Rise.

Michael reveals a startling new way of looking at business growth, based on his own experiences as a consultant for two $100 million-plus businesses.

During his research, Masterson discovered that every business goes through four stages (infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood).

And each stage has its own unique problems, challenges, and opportunities. So, if you′re an entrepreneurial CEO, this book is a “must” if you want to learn how to grow from “start-up” to $300 million a year like Michael has done!

Happy For No Reason Book CoverHappy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out is the new book from Marci Shimoff.  She is also a best-selling co-author of “Chicken Soup for the Woman′s Soul” and a featured teacher “The Secret.”

I have been a reader of Masterson’s “Early to Rise” newsletter for years, and buy just about every book he writes. What I love about him is he delivers real-world advice, in a clear, no-nonsense way. I definitely intend to read this book asap! Thanks for letting the world know about it.

    Hi Alex -

    Masterson’s book sounds interesting.

I think it is very important to recognize that companies go through stages of growth. I have been an IT consultant for almost 15 years (most of them in Silicon Valley). I have seen that as companies grow, if they do not recognize and address the challenges of the different phases, then they often fail and cease to exist as a company. A new, small company has very different challenges to address than a company which is past the new stage, is starting to do some things very well, but may have trouble handling success. How many people would think that unplanned success can drive a company to failure?!! Yet I have seen this happen many times.

I am very interested to see what Masterson has to say on this topic and how he defines the 4 stages of growth.

    Thanks for both suggestions!

    Geri

I will be honest hard work has never daunted me.It took hard work to build a million dollar business in the 1960’s.In the first place we did not have the tools which are available today. If you wanted to take it easy.It was not possible then.Your at a great advantage today with.Credit cards, easy credit, cell phones computers. In my business building days it was anything but easy.Especially when in the 1980′when the Interest rate on money rose from 9 % to almost 28%.To survive you had to hustle your butt.I have to digest this book before I give you an honest opinion on his methods. We lost customers when you gave no service.I did what was best in any situation niche marketing. So i could control the price i sold it at.I am a research chemist.I designed products other had not I still do this.It is the only way I can see how to get ahead of the growing competion from around the world.I believe the old Babe Ruth method.”hit them where they ain’t” regards Bill

Thanks for the recommendations. They look good. Though I’m not at the CEO level yet!

I can identify with different problems for different stages. Last year was a year of exponential growth. I’ve learnt so much and I’m trying to focus on applying it one step at a time.

The most amazing thing to me is that I’m now considered to be an expert by some folk and I’ve taken on a mentoring role. I’m in the expansion f]phase and ttrying so hard not to run before I can walk.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate your hardwork. I am putting audio on the next seminar send out. I enjoyed your teleseminar with Jack Canfield. Lots of great information that I can used.

I just clicked to order this wonderful book. I agree with the life cycle perspective of business.

I’m conducting a world-wide ask survey for my new book called men@pause:transforming questions for executive men at http://www.menatpausebook.com

Interesting that the questions I receive are from Generation X, Y, and Boomers. Most of the questions I’ve received so far are dealing with the “life cycle” of a question.

Is the right question today for a Generation X executive man hold true for when he is a husband, father, and future solopreneur no longer working out of a cubicle?

Just as I have invested in “bamboo” professional development by being a member of Teleseminar Secrets class, I will do so by purchasing this book based on Alex’s recommendation.

However, I must tell you that I am absolutely delighted with your Teleseminar Secrets course that I am participating in. It is truly the most substantial and exciting curriculum I have ever purchased. I have no doubt that this course will not only change my life, but many other lives as well.

The titles alone of both these books made me go and order them today. I’ve heard of them both several times from respected sources as well.

Can’t wait to add them to my own “Books We Love” page on my site (www.outwardimage.com/Books.htm)

    Thanks for the excellent reccommendation!

  18. January 9th, 2008 | 7:22 pm

    Alex,

Thanks for the recommendations. I love to see this coming into people’s marketing. I think we get all caught up in external things such as website, graphics, technology and forget that the biggest key or secret to success is getting ourself optimized.

    Looks like good reading.

I believe the Virtual Book Tour to be among the top three ways we can use to build our businesses while we provide great information to our learners. We give them what they want - explanations and to some extent digests, instead of them having to read everything to determine if the material is what they need. Once they come to know the author, find the center of the message, and continue their relationship of trust with us as providers of value-added content, they can then choose to read the context of the core message while making application of what they have already learned.

“Ready Fire Aim” arrived yesterday. I started it today, and it is very “meaty” and practical.

I am very much into creating more “happiness” in the lives of my ADHD and Bipolar patients. They often receive so much negative feedback, for so many years, that happiness is often lacking. I ordered “Happy For No Reason” today.

I am going to order this book next week. It sounds interesting and insightful. You can always look to learn something new. I have a few others that I want to start reading as well, I ordered The Four Hour Work Week and Made to Stick and still have yet to read either of them. It seems with school the only thing I get to read are textbooks.

  31. January 10th, 2008 | 10:26 am

I haven’t read the book yet, but was part of a startup biotech compnay in the early 80″s. I lived through all of the stages Michael tells you about, as well as, 3 different types of ownwership to complicate the stages - venture capital, publically held, and buy out by a fortune 500. I’m sure the pearls you will gain from this book are worth their weight in gold.

  32. January 10th, 2008 | 10:29 am

Ready, Fire, Aim - sounds like the way my brain works. I’ll be sure to read the book, Alex.

I’m looking forward to reading both books but as a long time follower of Masterson, he has some wonderful ideas.

Through all these self-help business books, we can learn from new trends, and planning; however, it all comes down to a lot of focus and planning with a healthy dose of luck.

I look forward to receiving Marci’s new book. I know her to be a powerful, delightful, happy and honest woman. I look forward to reading her latest spin on how to use the Law Of Attraction to create more and more happiness in my life. Isn’t it great that when you choose to Feel Good…the more the LOA gives you more reasons to Feel Good? My life just gets better and better each day…and I am grateful for people like Jack Canfield, Marci Shimoff, Hale Dwoskin, Rev. Michael Beckwith, Dr. Ron Hulnick and even Alex Mandossian for bringing forth these wonderful ways to learn about how to make our life an even better place.

    Hi Alex,
Thank you for the book recommendations and for the holiday greeting your family sent. Your kids are so sweet, enjoy them. I bought the first book and read the first chapter of the second and I also did a great deal of research in the area of “Happiness” and feel that the trick is staying in the present moment which I have mastered being a yoga instructor,REBT and Dr. Seligman’s positive psychology movement and I teach my patients these techniques. Can’t wait to incorporate some of Marci’s strategies and techniques. It’s always nice to keep learning in all areas.
    Thank you again!

    Alex -
I have been reading Masterson’s Early To Rise and other publications for a few years now. Great recommendations! As a productivity and organization consultant, I appreciate Masterson’s approach of no bs. He does not offer convoluted solutions that cannot be followed. He gives practical advice that if follows pays off.
    To your success!

Thank you for suggesting this book. I know that if you recommend it that it must be good. “Happy For No Reason” is a terrific title for a book too. As a book publicist I can spot a bestselling title a mile away. This one is it… As for the content, after reading the free chapter I am sold.
