Add Your “Gravatar” to Blog Comments
What is a Gravatar? Gravatar stands for Globally Recognized Avatar and it’s an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things.
Gravatars help identify your posts on blogs - such as when you comment on this one - on web forums and other types of social media types of sites.
How do you get one? Click here to sign up for a free Gravatar.com account. All that’s required is your email address. Once you’ve signed up, you can upload your image and in less than 10 minutes, you’ll start seeing it on gravatar enabled sites – such as this one.
Click on the GOLD COMMENTS button (upper-right) and then scroll down to the Reply section of this blog post to see my Gravatar. Once you get your own Gravatar, your picture will accompany every one of your blog post replies.
Hey, if a tech-challenged entrepreneur like me can do it, so can you!
How to Gravatar-enable your site: Setting up Gravatars on your own site is easy and you don’t even need a Gravatar.com account.
Plugins are available for leading blog software and content management systems you can click here now to get answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions.
What To Do Now: Click here to sign-up for your Gravatar and then post a comment on this blog to see your picture automatically appear right next to it in the Reply section.

Alex,
Really cool post and thank you for the info…. I activated the plug-in on my blog, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look all that great…. :o( I use a blog theme that has a comic type comment that the Gravatar picture overlaps and doesn’t have great appeal…. But, my picture is going to spice up my comments on others blogs that us Gravatar!!!!
Thanks again for the great informative post….

Outstanding!! Thanks for letting me know about it.
I was wondering how people fed their photo onto Alex’s comment section.
Thanks!

We’ve been using a Gravatar for awhile and they are great because it allows people to see you (in our case, us) and that helps people know, like and trust you.
But we still have a problem where people confuse Pat & Lorna. Remember that Pat is the good looking one on the left.

I just recently added the gravitar plugin to my own blog and I love it. It just brings the conversation to life so much more when you can see the faces of those writing comments on your blog.
Also – love that you made a post to your readers about how to use it and get one, I’ll have to do that on my blog too.
Thanks
Gravatars are essential to recognizing your friends comments I say. Also good to keep consistent branding on blog comment with your avatar pic. Good post
Alex,
Another brilliant post. Thanks for the ability to use our Gravatar so that people will come to know, like and trust us by “seeing” us.
I See YOU, Alex.
Loved the TSS Reunion and putting the faces with the sounds heard on the telephone. Looking forward to many more reunions and connecting again.
THis is a cool tip. THank you for bringing me into the Gravatar Age
Hi Alex, I signed up for my Gravitar, but it seemed that I already had one.
Testing out my “Gravatar”. As always, great tip Alex! I hope I did it right!
Always valuable to get Alex’ wisdom. And as Facebook becomes more universal in it’s application you can also set it up to allow FB log-in to work on other sites using Facebook Connect – which then shows your FB pic / Avatar. I need to check this out more – but anything that makes connecting easier is a good thing!
Works Great? Guess we’ll see.
Yep! Works Great!!!
Thanks Alex
Hey Alex I really appreciate the tip, I can now post on all of the gravatar authorized sites and build my pretty face everywhere on the net.
I hope that this will increase my exposure in a positive means. I can’t wait to find out.

Thank you Alex!!! It is awesome. You Rock!!!
I love gravatars. It’s a great way to personify comments being made. Great job Alex for informing your audience about them. :)

Hi Alex,
I’ve been using a Gravatar on my blog for 3 months now and love it! In fact, it helps to have the SAME image for both my Gravatar on the Blog and Avatar for Twitter.
In addition, every post that I write has my photo just under the title. It’s a great way to help people connect to you. When gravatars are set up for the Post Author, your readers can also see your guest author’s photo. And ideally the photos are smiling right back at ‘em!
Cheers,
Marian Sparks

Very nice, Alex. Thanks for the tip. It would be interesting to study the psychology behind the choices of some of the gravatars. :-)
Thanks for the post.
Alex,
Great post! I have been wondering how to get that picture inserted into all of my posts.
It’s true. When Almighty God wants to bless you, He sends someone into your life. I’M SO GLAD THAT HE ARRANGED FOR ME TO LEARN ABOUT YOU. My life and business will forever be the better for knowing you.
Sincerely,
Ramon E. Dees
