Repurposing: The E-Book

In the last blog post I talked about two ways to repurpose. Today I′ll talk about a third â€“ the eBook.

An eBook is the digital equivalent of a printed book and is downloaded directly from the Internet as a PDF file.

A great example is the eBook PowerPause by Mr. John Harricharan.

PowerPause is a digital book that was repurposed several times over. He took one concept and splintered it into many products. With each repurposing, there′s more profit. [Read more…]

Repurposing: Hard Cover & Soft Cover Books

Part of what I teach in Virtual Book Tour Systems is repurposing content.

A good example of repurposing content is a hard cover book called Greatest Direct Mail Sales Letters of All Time by Richard Hodgson.

This book is repurposed content.

Richard took all of the sales letters he accumulated from friends and colleagues during the 40s, 50s and even before and compiled them into a book that sells for almost $70. [Read more…]

The Carrot or The Stick?

In episode #37 of Marketing Online Live, Paul and I discussed motivating large companies to embrace time shifted media delivery using the carrot vs. the stick.

I am a stick person. Why? Because people are more motivated when you take something away from them versus offering something they may not have.

Carrot and stick is basically equivalent to pain and pleasure.

The “take away,” as it′s often called in sales, is extremely important. If someone has always been poor and dies without money it′s not as painful as if someone who has been rich and then goes broke. [Read more…]
