“Improver” or “Inventor” in Your Business?
By Alex Mandossian on July 3, 2008

“Never invent, always improve.”Target

This four-word sentence is indelibly etched in my mind right now. I also have that quote framed and hanging on the wall of my home office.

The marketing philosophy of choosing improvement over invention has generated millions of dollars for my info publishing business and my students’ businesses.

Although the idea of becoming an “Improver” is not as sexy as being known as an “Inventor,” it is improvement, not invention, that has generated billions for some of the most renowned Thought Leaders in history. Ironically, many of these folks have been inaccurately dubbed as “Inventors.”

Here’s one example: Nikola Tesla invented the modern alternating current electric power (AC) systems. Thomas Edison improved it. Telsa died broke. Edison died a millionaire.

Here’s another: Charles Haanel is the true (more…)

Recession-Proofing with Article Marketing
By Jeff Herring on June 24, 2008

cliffs_110.jpgOne of my favorite shows as a kid was Get Smart. So I was excited to hear about the movie version that opened this summer. The new Get Smart movie got me to thinking about how to get smart with our article marketing efforts.

International Article Agents

Imagine what it would it be like if you could have a 300 to 500 word sample of your expertise spread all over the internet working for you 24/7 all over the world.

Now imagine having ten of those “international article agents.”

Now imagine having 100 of those “international article agents.”

Now imagine being able to (more…)

Do You Believe These to be 9 Unarguable Truths?
By Alex Mandossian on June 19, 2008

write_110.jpgFacts or fiction?  That’s the question that accompanies this recent email I got from a friend. Maybe you’ve seen it, maybe you haven’t … but I thought it was worth passing along :-)

These should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where you can read it every day. You may not realize it, but the original ”sender” claimed that these are 100% true.

1) There are at least 2 people in this world that you would die for.

2) At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3) The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because (more…)

List Building with Articles
By Jeff Herring on June 15, 2008

Here is what I know with certainty:

If I want more visitors, I write more articles.

If I want more prospects, I write more articles.

If I want more teleseminar listeners, I write more articles.

If I want more customers, I write more articles.

If I want more profits, I write more articles.

And if I want more highly qualified, highly responsive people on my list, I write more articles. I strongly suggest you (more…)

Do You ‘Tweet’ For Your Business?
By Cathy Perkins on June 12, 2008

TwitterDo you ‘tweet’ for your business? If you don’t you should. Twitter has really caught on as a traffic builder.

Tweets are short little posts commenting on what you are doing right now. The key to using Twitter effectively is participation. You must listen as well as speak. The more you listen and respond, the more people will ‘follow you’.

When you tweet, your message is broadcast to everyone who is following you.  If your ‘tweet’ is interesting, your followers will want to see what you are all about and will click over to your blog.

Write a new blog post? Tweet about it. Launching a new product? Tweet about it. Working on a new project? Tweet about it.

The more you interact, the more people will interact with you. So, go over to Twitter and set up an account. Search for people you know and start following them. Start ‘tweeting’ and watch what happens!

30436648.jpgIf you want to burn your brand into minds of your students or customers … then I encourage you to begin thinking about creating your own marketing “lexicon” (vocabulary) in order to develop your own Glossary of Terms.

By so doing, you’ll automatically create your own vocabulary or language that instantly and automatically separates you from your competitors or rivals. Yet most info marketers fail to see the power of developing their own marketing lexicon.

But once you create a new vocabulary to amplify your marketing message (Tim Ferriss does with his 4-Hour Work Week blog and book), you almost instantly become an expert by “defining” your ideas.

Resource: www.AlexMandossianToday.com/glossary

Glossary: A “lexicon” is the mental vocabulary in another person’s mind for a specific language, social class, field, industry or glossary that communicates, organizes and pre-defines new ideas or concepts.

Blog Your Book…
By Cathy Perkins on May 26, 2008

…or your book idea or your information product!

If you are an author (or Infopreneur) with a published book, book idea or forthcoming info product launch, then you need to “blog” about it.

If you are a published author, blog from your book. Remember, Alex says you don’t make money writing your book, you make money explaining your book.

If you are an author with an idea for a book, blog about your book. Start creating buzz about it before it’s even published. AND - ask your readers for their ideas and opinions.

You never know what you might hear :-)

You will learn a whole lot more about this blogging strategy on this year’s Virtual Book Tour Systems with Alex Mandossian. Watch for an announcement about the preview call on June 5th.

Who Knows You? (The Power of “Connecting”)
By Alex Mandossian on May 15, 2008

19145686.jpgWhen you want to tap into the power of “connecting” with your friends or business colleagues, remember it’s not who you know … it’s WHO KNOWS YOU that counts most.

Consider the implications of ”Metcalfe’s Law“. I won’t go into the formula (you can read about it at Wikipedia), but I will tell you it all started with telephone networks. Then it went into fax networks. Then to operating systems. And then the Internet.

Today, all the hype is about ”social networking” sites, right?

What’s the “Frequency” of Your Speed of TRUST?
By Alex Mandossian on May 1, 2008

Stephen M. R. CoveyIn 2006, my good friend Stephen M.R. Covey wrote his international best-seller, Speed of Trust - The One Thing That Changes Everything.

“Trust is common to every individual, relationship, team, family, organization, nation, economy and civilization is the least understood, most neglected and underestimated possibility of our time.”

Stephen also makes this critical observation: “Trust impacts us 24/7, 365 days a year. It affects the quality of every relationship, every communication, every work project, every business venture, every effort in which we are engaged.”

From my own marketing experience … all 349 pages of that remarkable book can be summed up with this Marketing Formula: (more…)
